Not just set aside after the ceremony itself, the bouquet of each bridesmaid are usually placed on the head table for color and to add to the overall décor of the reception area.

It is important that these flowers complement the bridal bouquet in some way.

They can be similar to the bride's but on a lesser scale, or they can be completely different. They can even be entirely different from each other. Each bridesmaid can carry a bouquet comprised of a single flower from the bride's bouquet.

Bridesmaid Flowers

A beautiful idea with a dual purpose is having each bridesmaid carry an elegant evening bag decorated with a flattering corsage. The evening bag can then be given to each of the girls as a thank you gift for standing up with you in the wedding party. When considering color for the flowers, you can choose an exquisite combination of tone on tone with flowers and dresses of similar color. Add crystal flower picks for some serious sparkle.

Alternately, choose bridesmaid flowers that are completely different from the dress color but are flattering to the overall theme of your wedding.

If you are having a winter wedding and plan to take outdoor photos with a snowy backdrop, consider your flower color choice carefully. Pure white flowers are a popular option but ensure you have a good burst of color so they don't disappear into the landscape.

If you have a tight floral budget you can consider purchasing previously used silk bouquets. The obvious limitations to this choice are you may have to spend a considerable amount of time searching to get colors and quantities that you need. And there's a good chance you'll have to make the purchase online without actually being able to see what you buy.

On the upside, you can save considerable money and receive them well in advance of the wedding – leaving you or your bridesmaid with one less thing to do on your wedding day.

Being a bridesmaid in a wedding comes with significant responsibilities. Your girlfriends are there to help you with anything and everything that needs to be done throughout the planning process in the months before and for special requests on the wedding day.

Your bridal party deserves a tremendous amount of appreciation for everything they do. Bridesmaid bouquets and gifts of thanks are your chance to show your gratitude. Make them special!
