Declutter your glassware section. Check dishes and glassware. Recycle anything broken, cracked or unwanted (like those #Best Teacher mugs you won in a fundraiser draw!) I love this stemware organizer to keep your glasses neat and safe inside your kitchen cabinets.
Sort out your dish towels and cloths. Anything smelly or overly stained or containing holes can be thrown away or used as cleaning rags. Toss!
Home organization tips for the kitchen cabinets.
Keep dishes such as plates, bowls at a lower, easier to reach level. This also helps when the children are at the age of making their own breakfast. Items like mixing bowls, or china can go up higher as you will use them less.
Stack pots and pans neatly so that they fit into their compartment better. This pan organizer helps to stack the pans and save space. It's nice to have a drawer specifically for lids if you have the space. You will also find pot lid holders which attach to the inside of cupboard doors as a good space saver.
Lastly, neatly fold the dishcloths and tea towels and put them away in a drawer.

Wiping the insides of cupboards and benchtops
As you spend your time reorganizing your kitchen cupboards - wipe them out one by one using a warm, damp cloth. I usually fill up the sink with a detergent mix (not too soapy). It's easier to vacuum out the crumbs and dust before you wipe the shelves clean.
Clean the countertops and sink with soap and water. Use a solution of white vinegar to do the counter tops, especially if any meat or seafood has touched it. Vinegar is great to remove odours as well.

As I researched ways to clean and organize the kitchen, I discovered some terrific products to help.
A great way to stack up your pots and pans without them scratching eachother, pot lids on the insides of the cupboard doors and a way to keep your glassware neat as well as safe. See my page on kitchen organization for your cabinets.
